Julie
Blews artistic pedigree is a strong one. Her family
includes accomplished musicians, a published writer, an opera
singer, even a professional sculptor. With such exposure
as a child, Julie dabbled in a variety of artistic endeavors.
Eventually, however, she finally discovered for herself what
everyone around her already knew she took beautiful
photographs. Captured moments no one else could see.
Distilled the essence of a moment down to a single picture
that was worth far more than a thousand words.
Working
professionally as a photographer since 2001, Julies
interest in the subject spans a quarter of a century.
While working as a special education teacher, she began cultivating
her own unique style, gaining technical experience and developing
an innovative artistic interpretation a mix of light-hearted
reality plus a keen eye for detail.
A
move to the Arizona desert and the birth
of her two children gave Julie ample material with which to
practice on. Eventually practice became profession and
she hasnt looked back, only forward - working steadily
as a photographer and cultivating her craft. Her subject
matter is as varied as the individuality she is able to pull
from those subjects
freelance, portraiture, weddings,
sporting events, travel, and nature. As she likes to
say, she can and will shoot it all.
Julies
work has recently been featured in the July
2003 issue of New York Institute of Photography Photoworld
Magazine. She is a graduate of the New
York Institute of Photography (NYIP).
